How to Download Windows 8 Consumer Preview – Download Guide

Same i tweeted this morning, Windows 8 Consumer Preview is now available for the download at Microsoft official links. We have already mentioned that next Windows 8 Beta will be named either as Windows 8 Consumer Preview or as Release Candidate. Now it is almost available for full world. and most importantly it is now available in 5 languages and the it is availabe and can be downloaded via using manual and automatic download and installation method.

here is the two methods, where you can easily download the Windows 8 CP and install it as well.

Manual Method (download, and then manually install).

Automatic way for downloading plus installation.

There are some limitation which are there to be consider before moving on on both ways.

Machine should meet below mentioned points.

Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster
RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device or higher
To use touch, you need a tablet or monitor that supports multitouch
To access Windows Store and to download and run apps, you need an active Internet connection and a screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768
To snap apps, you need a screen resolution of at least 1366 x 768

Manual Method:

First you need to download the ISO file of Windows 8 CP.
After downloading burn the ISO file on DVD via using USB/DVD Download Tool or Windows Disk Image Burner.
Then insert the written DVD into DVD rom and start the installation manually.

Automatic Download and Installation:

First you need to download Windows 8 Consumer Preview Setup.
After download completes, run the setup file.
Make sure you are connected with WIFI or Broadband internet.
It will check the compatibility on the said machine.
After checking the compatibility, Microsoft will provide the CD Key.
Save the CD Key and move toward the further where setup will start downloading the image of Windows 8 Consumer Preview and from onwards after download complete Installation screen come out.

Windows 8 Beta Would be Named a Windows 8 RC1 or Consumer Preview

Well discussion is already under way, as Microsoft will be launching Windows 8 Beta after Version, may be with the name Windows 8 RC1 or Consumer Preview. But i personally feels that it does not matter if Window 8 next version named as Window 8 RC1 or Windows 8 Consumer Preview or Window 8 CP 1. I personally used the Windows 8 Developer Preview version x86 on my two laptops, First one was Dell N series and other one was is little funny because the machine was HP Compaq nc6230.

The HP Compaq nc6280 had no problem while running the Windows 8 Developer Preview version. This Window 8 Developer Preview version was available in both 64 bits and 32 bits. It was beautiful although some users at first glance did chucked and wonder how to use but once they know the Front interface they actually liked it.

Now it i on news every where that Windows 8 RC1 or Windows 8 Consumer Preview is going to be seed for the general public in Next month February 2012 and i do not have any idea why different blogs like Cnet and news websites are fighting on its name? because as long as Windows 8 RC1 or Window 8 CP port and available for the general public, People will eventually going to remember one name Windows 8 and it performance at the day end. We already mentioned in one of our article that it can be happened a the Windows RC1 can be next Windows Beta version.

It is also expected that Windows 8 Final version will be available for all three hardware, Windows Phone, Tablets and Laptops and Most importantly Windows 8 will be available for ARM low specs hardware machines to run it on x86 or you can also call it as 32 bits user experience so guys. Keep an eye and stay in touch with us at least till the end of February 2012.

Now you will have the below mentioned screen and click on Preference.

Now you will see Lock Screen and User Tile, on Right side of divided screen. Select the wallpaper of your own choice.

How to Role back from Metro UI Start Menu to Classic Windows Start Menu

This Post reminds me the time, when i got my hands on Windows 7 RC and RTM for the first time, and boy i was damn crazy about Windows 7, now same case is here where Windows 8 is launched, in Developers Preview so far and you can download windows 8 as it simple rocks because having so much roam for customization. Windows 7 which i use is also Customized working on better speed and having bigger cache then the default. Sometimes when i have to use bigger designer programs, like Photoshop or Corel or other 3D animation program, i usually push windows 7 toward classic view because in the classic style, it takes less resources.

In the classic style, Windows 7 work better and perform at best using lesser cache, and resources. That is the point what i like most about Windows 7 and it simply having edge on Vista. Now it is time for Windows 8 to roll in and i bet millions like me will be molding and customizing the Windows 8 according to their need.

Here is a simple tweak, where you will have a glimpse that Windows 8 also has a roam for manual customization, where Windows 8 Metro UI Start Menu can be roll back to Classic Start Menu. If you know how to work with the registry of the Windows 8, you will find it very handy and easy when you opt for this particular tweak.

Well here is the easy guide through which you can simply go back to classic Start Menu on Windows 8.

Guide to Roll Back From Metro UI Start Menu to Classic Aero Styled Start Menu

First click on Start Menu.
Write “regedit” in the Search Menu just above Start Menu. and hit the “Enter” button.
A new windows will be opened now navigate to following URL.
” HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer “
Now you have make changes in the RPEnabled. “Please make sure you have complete backup or restore point created, so that in case of any malfunctioning, you would be able to roll back to the last best configured optimum setting via Restore Point.”
Now change RPEnabled value from “1″ to “o”. Log off and then logon , you will see the Aero styles Start Menu Button.
However if you want to go back to Metro UI Start Menu, you can change the value of RPEnabled to back from “0″ to “1″.

After that make sure you have Downloaded Windows 8 on your Drive.
After that Start Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool.
In the Source column, write the complete path where you have downloaded Windows 8, or simple browse to the folder, where you have initially download Windows 8 and Click Next.
Select USB, if you want to make Bootable USB Windows 8 or select the DVD to burn Bootable Windows 8.
If you are going to make Bootable USB Flash Drive, click on “Begin Copying” and if you want to make Windows 8 Bootable DVD, click on “Begin Burning”
Now sit back tool will copy or burn the DVD as Bootable and afterward you can simple use any of the USB Flash Drive or DVD to install Windows 8 on any system or Gadget. Thank.
