Root / Jailbreak Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 having 2.3.5 Android Inside

Guys i having Hands on Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and will be going to Jailbreak / Root it to take access of Super User circle. Well all the time i have been busy in making you guys Unlocking iPhone and Jailbreak iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch but this time i will make Android phone to Root and Jailbreak. It is a kind off jailbreak on Android, which will enable you to get any other Android Rom on your device, right now i am having hands on Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 to root / jailbreak.
There are few limitations before going into the process of Galaxy Y GT-S5360 Root / Unlock.
- First you have to Unzip Utility App so that during Recovery Mode, Update.zip file would be easily accessible.
- For this purpose download ES File Explorer from Android Market and install it.
- Now download Update.zip from HERE on PC.
- Pick your Galaxy Y to connect it via USB cable and place this file anywhere in your SD Card.
- Remove Phone from PC and Shutdown your Galaxy Y now.
- Now put your Galaxy Y in recovery mode. (while holding Home Button, Volume Up button and Power Button for 20 Seconds, this will put your device in Recovery Mode.
- In Recovery Mode Select the Second option, Update from SD Card.
- Now find the Update.zip file and press home button to execute it. Now process will be initiated and your Mobile will be Rooted.
- And after the process of Root, select the reboot option to reboot your device. You done.
- After this just download BusyBox and Install it to get access of BusyBox

3. Now download Update.zip from HERE on PC.

Hey Mac, I know you posted for the s5360, but does your Root work for the S5363? (I know that they are the same series, hence I would assume that it would work) I’m not able to root it thus far. I’ve tried just about everything I can think of (even modding the *_script file in notepad) and still I get “Installation Aborted…”
Any thoughts???

guys, there is no harm for opting this rooting procedure…. you can proceed but u need guts to do it….

Vishal rooting your phone set your free and you can load any updated or downgrade it to older firmware…

this rooting was for 2.3.5 not for 2.3.6 dear…..

No… Data will b erased only if u hard reset your phone

It doesn’t unlock networks. Have tried on two phones…
But it worked on the “being free” part
correct…. it does not unlock the device… it only provide you to access root of the device to customize and and to install customized ROMS

it is not for 2.3.6…. do not do it because it can brick your Galaxy Y

Bro if you go to Google Play…. and search for Es File it will provide you the free app of Es File Explorer….

Aditya there is no way u can install Ice cream sandwich on Galaxy Y because the screen size and the hardware will not support it and it can brick your Galaxy Y as well if you try it.

search for Galaxy Y custom ROM at XDA forums.. there you will find some but do read the reviews before you try to update onto custom ROM update.

First of all: what is the utility app and second: how do you unzip it?
first of all you dont need to unzip it…. just copy it to the sd card. BY Utility App unzipping means you just have to get utility app like Es File Explorer… it will enable you to see update.zip file ,, which means Es File Explorer will make you use the update.zip without unzipping it…. so just go to the recovery mode after downloading Es File Explorer and apply the update with update.zip file… you will be done….

Utility App i mean Es File Explorer… if you install Es File Explorer…. you do not need to unzip .. update.zip file… just get it from Google Play and go into recovery you will find Update.zip file

is there will be any change in hardware specification like increased processor speed, increased ram and rom, hd video support etc.??
well i am not sure about HD video support because it depends on the Screen and the Camera but yep you can increase only Processor Speed by Clocking it… but no for HD Video and RAM increase… Hardware changes required for it…
but why do u need to have more RAM and More speed on Processor??? its enough low end smart phone like Galaxy Y GT-S5360… just regularly clear the cache and you will get maximum out of it…
and also is it possible to install a higher resolution camera instead of factory fitted 2megapixel camera??
No it is not possible dear…. hardware changes cannot be made unless and until you ask or Samsung do it in there hardware labs

it is same like proxy servers, which has the ability to bypass your country ISP and the restricted sites and URL can be access through DriodVPN but you need to buy that if you wan to use it with full options and features…. thanks
