After Apple store, it was expected that Google Web Store, will face the Jailbreak / Cydia App store but it was declined by the creator of Cydia, Jay Freeman (Commonly known as Saurik. last night Google IO event, where different product’s keynotes and releases were discussed and future of those products were placed in front of big crowd, most developers.
They announced Honeycomb 3.1 at start, Exclusive Galaxy Tab with Honeycomb 3.0, Music Store in Beta and Springpad was announced. Most of the services are right limited to US only but they will be launched for the rest of the world for sure in future. Jay Freeman also part of those gathering.
Freeman has been questioned by 9to5mac official many a times about Cydia type App store for Windows Market Place and now Google App Store but answer is pretty much clear that He does not need to create Cydia, as Google believes in Openness and their products are open source as compared to Apple App Store, so no chances as he himself work very closely with the Google developers. So the chances for Cydia type App Store for Google portal is very much declined.
