iPhone 4 with 3G support vs Other Smart Phones with 4G on Verizon

Its almost few days left, when Verizon start selling out the iPhone 4 from their portal, but every one is looking for the speed and the variety of the features, which are available with Android phones and other smartphone more easily. But if you look at iPhone 4 package, it will come out with 3G network support, whereas already few Smartphones on Sprint, have the 4G so its bit difficult for the Verizon customer to stay in tact for long.
It has been heard via BGR that there will be no 4G till 2012, so if we see future in our hands, how can one stick to the older technology for that long, where after sprint 4G launch, smartphone manufacturers are already gearing up for the 4G supported smart phones, which means maximum smartphones in 2011 will move on to 4G network support because most of the guys they need speed to surf.
So this is the point, where iPhone 4 manufacturers and Verizon should look into it very quickly to be a competitive in the market.
Moreover, we already know that CDMA technology is not fully operative in all around the globe but it is GSM, so Roaming facility for iPhone 4 users on Verizon will have disadvantage on this particular point as well.
